Pieter-Jan De Pue’s debut film The Land of the Enlightened premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival where it won the award for Best Cinematography.
Since 2007 he has been travelling for long periods to Afghanistan photographing the country and its people while preparing his first film. Since its premiere, The Land of the Enlightened has been released cinematically in a number of countries and has been doing a world tour on international film festivals winning several awards.
Pieter-Jan De Pue (°1982) is an independent film maker who graduated in 2007 from the RITCS film academy in Brussels, Belgium. He is currently working on his second feature film “Two Poachers”, about two brothers leaving for an unknown war.
